Youth Mechanix

 

South East Youth Action CIC works with students who struggle to achieve in a mainstream classroom environment. By engaging students in hands-on experiences and reflection , they are better able to connect theories and knowledge to real-world situations. 


PROGRAMME CONTENT

We offer 4 different programmes. Each programme consists of 9 workshops (workshops start at 09:30am (09:00 early arrival is welcome) and finish at 2.30pm).  

Programme 1:

  • Introduction to Motor Vehicle Workshop Safety 
  • Identification of Basic Car Parts 

Programme 2:

  • Motor Vehicle Workshop Tools and Equipment 
  • Checking and Maintaining Car Tyres

Programme 3:

  • Principles of Engine Components and Operations 
  • Checking and Maintaining Car Fluid Levels

Programme 4:

  • Routine Braking System Checks
  • Electricity


PROGRAMME COSTS

Pre-Programme Visit (1.5 hours) (optional but useful for students with additional needs or behavioural issues): £50

Cost per Workshop (09:30 to 14:30): £110 per student (minimum 3 students per workshop).
